I just discovered some Morel mushrooms in the red bark we had delivered from Rogue Compost. Have you heard of this before?
Interestingly enough, that sometimes happens with the red bark. I find them near my home in Jacksonville. In fact, I found these within sight of my house one day this week — and it was my seventh day in a row of finding them close to home.
These delicious Morels are readily available throughout our region — from close to the coast in early spring all the way to Lake of the Woods and Diamond Lake later in the summer.
Folks have also been known to find them along fences in their yards when they put new bark down — something I’ve actually seen myself. So yes, people do find Morels after putting down red bark from Rogue Compost!
